Analysing Opening Scenes - 'Goosebumps'

 

The fourth opening scene I am going to analyse is the comedy horror 'Goosebumps'.

- Production Company Logos - Columbia Pictures, Sony pictures

- Titles/Credits - Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures, Goosebumps

- Music - the music is upbeat yet calm, mysterious and slightly spooky which creates tension and indicates that this could be a horror or comedy/horror film. There are also a couple sudden loud noises which could create a jump scare 

- Setting - the opening sequence starts off with the mother and son driving far away from town into a small depressing neighbourhood with creepy neighbours

- Main Character - we learn that the main character likes to have fun and hang around lots of people since he doesn't like his new quiet neighbourhood, he also likes talking to girls such as his neighbour however his neighbours dad won't allow him to which makes him dislike and feel more mysterious about the neighbourhood.
