Analysing Opening Scenes - 'Interstellar'

 

The third opening sequence I am going to analyse is the sci-fi film 'Interstellar'.

- Production company logos (Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers pictures, Legendary Pictures, Syncopy) 

- Titles/Credits (Interstellar)

- Music (The calm yet spooky and mysterious music helps indicate that this is a sci-fi film)

- Setting (This is set in a very dark, dull and stormy part of earth which is highly threatened to natural disasters)

- Main Character (The main character is introduced as someone who is suffering from nightmares and mental stress about the near futuristic state of earth due to natural disasters

- Genre (We find out that this is a sci-fi film when we see see space shuttles models on dusty cupboards, fighter jets zooming through the skies, depressing weather swarming the city, and a man having nightmares about the future)
